Welcome to the latest Ancon newsletter. This month we celebrate the opening of our impressive new site and also discuss how our Helifix retrofit systems can provide an effective low-cost seismic upgrade.

New site opens for business

In May, the Ancon head office and main manufacturing and warehousing site relocated to an impressive new facility at 98 Kurrajong Avenue, Mount Druitt, NSW - just down the road from our previous location.

The distance we've travelled may be small, but the difference between our old and new site is considerable. The new premises are double the size of our previous site, enabling us to store more raw materials, operate improved workflows and hold more finished stock than ever before. These benefits will quickly enhance the service we offer to customers nationwide and will allow us to respond more effectively to increases in demand. We are well positioned to meet future market growth and challenging project requirements.

The Ancon team is now safely installed in its new improved working environment and better prepared to meet your project needs, large or small. Our telephone numbers and email/web address are unchanged. Read more here

Retrofit helical wall ties and reinforcements for seismic upgrades

Earthquakes can cause major disruption in our region and, in the worst cases, loss of life. Finding cost-effective practical ways of improving the structural performance of our vulnerable buildings and infrastructure is essential.

For many years Helifix remedial ties, fixings and reinforcements have proved effective in maintaining and restoring structural integrity to aged, weathered and damaged masonry. Now, these cost-effective retrofit systems are being extensively used in seismic areas to add strength and ductility to masonry when upgrading structures or restoring earthquake damaged sites.

Crack stitching and limestone pinning were just some of the techniques used by Helifix to restore structural integrity to buildings affected by the 2011 earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. To view some of our seismic projects click here.
